Universal Studios Hollywood combines top-notch attractions with rich storytelling.  A part of that overall experience is each attraction queue.  Sometimes those queues can get filled and have long wait times, which may pose an obstacle for some of their Guests.  To aid these Guests in having the best possible attraction experience, the team at Universal Studios Hollywood has developed an Attraction Assistance Pass for Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting in a conventional attraction queue environment.  However, there are steps that need to be taken prior to a visit to the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. 

 

INDIVIDUAL ACCESSIBILITY CARD –
APPLICATION PROCESS

Guests requesting an attraction queue accommodation must obtain and Individual Accessibility Card (IAC) from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

No less than 48 hours prior to your visit, register for your Individual Accessibility Card at www.accessibilitycard.org. The IAC registration consists of an online application which includes uploading a recent photo of the cardholder, selection of theme park destinations (in this case, Universal Studios Hollywood), contact information for the cardholder or parent/guardian of the cardholder, contact information and a statement from a medical provider, government entity, or educational support professional related to the requested accommodations.  It can take up to 48 hours for your card to be approved and sent to you in a digital format, so you may want to apply much more than 48 hours before your trip begins.

Once all requirements for IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card are met, a Universal Studios Hollywood Team Member will contact the cardholder to discuss their request for an attraction queue accommodation. 

Please take note:

  • Only IBCCES can issue the IBCCES Accessibility Card, and not Universal Studios Hollywood.  Do not wait until you arrive at the park to complete this step. 
  • IAC does not guarantee entry to an attraction and any special accommodations or benefits provided are at the sole discretion of that attraction.
  • If you are not contacted by a Guest Services team member from Universal don’t wait to hear from them.  Contact Guest Services at 800-864-8377.
ATTRACTION ASSISTANCE CARD –
HOW TO OBTAIN YOUR CARD AT THE PARKS

Even though you’ve been in contact with Universal Studios Hollywood’s Guest Services team members prior to your arrival, you will still need to visit their location inside the park to obtain your Attraction Assistance Pass.  You will not need to answer any questions here.  The IAC cardholder must be present to show their IAC QR Code.  Also required are the park passes of your Guests (up to 5 additional Guests can accompany you).  Once you show these items to the team member you will receive an Atrractions Assistance Pass with a bar code across the back.  This pass will display the cardholder’s name, dates of your visit, and number of guests accompanying you. 

INDIVIDUAL ACCESSIBILITY CARD –
APPLICATION PROCESS

To use your pass at an attraction, follow these steps:

  • Present the Attraction Assistance Pass to the entrance greeter at the attraction you would like to experience. 
  • If the posted wait time is less than thirty (30) minutes, you will be directed to the appropriate queue. 
  • If the posted wait time is thirty (30) minutes or more, the greeter will indicate a specific time to return on the reverse side of the pass.  (This is done on the pass, not on the app.  Do not lose the pass.)
  • Once it is your time to return, present the Attraction Assistance Pass to the greeter at the attraction and you will be directed to the appropriate queue. 
  • Once you have experienced an attraction, you may use your Attraction Assistance Pass to receive a return time at another attraction. 

Important details:

  • You may only have one active return time on the pass at a time.  If you receive a time to return at one attraction, but choose to receive a return time at a different attraction instead, you forfeit your return time at the first attraction.
  • The Attraction Assistance Passholder MUST enjoy the attraction.  Your party may not ride without you.
