Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, the World’s Premier Halloween Event, brings together terrifying haunted houses, sinister scare zones, outrageous live entertainment, and some of the park’s most exhilarating attractions. Jack the Clown will be back as well, lunging from the shadows where you least expect. Tickets are available for the event on select nights between September 2 and October 31, 2022.

Halloween Horror Nights returns to Universal Studios packing more frightening fun than ever before. This hard-ticket, after-hours event is held on select nights between September 2 and October 31. There will be TEN haunted houses and FIVE scare zones for this year’s event. Don’t forget to visit the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Shop as it returns for another year. This event is most certainly going to be intense, and it is not recommended that children under the age of 13 attend Halloween Horror Nights.

Guidelines for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights will align with the destination’s overall health and safety protocols. For the latest information on Universal Orlando’s Safety Guidelines, visit universalorlando.com/safety.

General Admission Gates

Typically, they will open the gates a bit before the official start time (anywhere between 15 minutes to a half hour early). If you are there early (preferably an hour early), you can get to one or two of the houses before lines get long.

Priority Entrance

Universal Resort Guests will have a dedicated priority entrance to the to the of the Universal Studios Florida gates, in front of the former Blue Man Group Theater.  They will begin scanning tickets at approximately 5:30 pm.

Holding Areas

Your best bet to get in early is if you have park tickets that day, or to purchase a Stay and Scream early entry ticket. Be inside Universal Studios before closing (at least 30 minutes before to avoid the crowds waiting to get into the event) and head to one of the “holding areas” where they will check you in by scanning your ticket. Usually at least one haunted house is opened early for each holding area. Holding Areas for this year’s event are located at Delancey (near Revenge of the Mummy and Finnegan’s), Springfield/Krustyland, and at Today Café in Production Central. Check with a Universal Studios Team Member when you check in to find out which holding area is closest to your top priority haunted houses and choose accordingly. Usually, you will have access to places to sit, some food options, and restrooms. This beats standing outside the gates waiting to get in!

The Weeknd:  After Hours Nightmare – You love his music, but can you survive his mind? The Weeknd is about to stalk your squad through this haunted house, a surreal living nightmare from his After Hours videos. His nightmare is now yours.

Halloween – Silent. Merciless. Relentless. There’s nobody like Michael Myers. And if your scream squad is ready, this year, you can gather together and face the terror of Halloween from the very beginning.

The Horrors of Blumhouse – Get ready for a bloodcurdling new double feature of Blumhouse horror as your scream squad faces a ruthless serial killer in Freaky and an evil kidnapper in the relentlessly terrifying The Black Phone.

Universal Monsters: Legends Collide – If you thought one Universal Monster was scary, how about three? Summon your scream squad, ‘cause you’re about to get caught between The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy, together for the first time.

Spirits of the Coven – A coven of beautiful flapper witches will lure you into their 1920s speakeasy, reveal their haggish true form and turn your scream squad into a witch’s brew. They’ll be cackling; you’ll be screaming.

Bugs: Eaten Alive – Get ready for a bloodcurdling new double feature of Blumhouse horror as your scream squad faces a ruthless serial killer in Freaky and an evil kidnapper in the relentlessly terrifying The Black Phone.

Fiesta de Chupacabras – Visit a Latin American village where the legend of the creature Chupacabras is celebrated with a colorful fiesta. And the streets are lined with the crimson blood of tourists like you and your amigos.

Hellblock Horror – Enter a prison whose savage inmates are monstrous creatures. If they break free from their cells, it’s a death sentence for everyone.

Dead Man’s Pier: Winter’s Wake – In a New England fishing village, undead fishermen emerge from the waves to seek their revenge. You and your scream squad may have escaped their hooks in the scare zone. Now they’ll reel you in and drag you under.

Descendants of Destruction – Careful not to leave any of your scream squad behind as you descend the subway tunnels of a deserted New York. Lurking in the dark are hungry mutants looking to feast on the last remnants of humanity.

These are areas of the park that aren’t actual haunted houses, but that have themes with sights, sounds, smells, and creatures of the night that will try to scare you as you walk through. Expect to be scared, especially if you are chatting with your friends and not paying attention to the bumps in the night. For 2018, there will be at least 5 of them. And they are best after dark since it’s out in the open.

Horrors of Halloween

The Pumpkin Lord, the spirit of Halloween, has taken over this year’s event, summoning hordes of fiendish creatures. Terror has taken root.

Scarecrow: Cursed Soil

At an abandoned farm, scarecrows have risen from the crust of the earth to hunt you and seek revenge. They’ll harvest your screams.

Sweet Revenge

The sweets from Major Sweets’ candy company have turned children into crazed killers. This Halloween’s all trick, no treat and total mayhem.

Graveyard: Deadly Unrest

On All Hallows Eve, a dark storm descends upon a cemetery and awakens long-dead spirits. No one living can escape them.

Conjure the Dark

On the first All Hallows Eve, an evil sorceress called forth monstrosities from dark dimensions. Now your blood will fuel them.

  • This first two weeks are usually the least busy.
  • Saturdays are the busiest, followed by Friday.
  • Guests wearing costumes will not be admitted to the event.
  • It may be difficult to see all 10 haunted houses in one night without Express Pass or an RIP Tour.
  • Express passes for the parks (whether purchased for the day at the park, or the pass you get for staying at one of the resorts) are NOT valid during the event. An Express Pass ticket add-on is available for the event.
  • Have a game plan going in – prioritize the haunted houses that are the most important. Decide in advance if you’re all about the haunted houses or if you’d like to experience attractions as well. Get a HHN map in order to plan your strategy before you enter.
  • The “scareactors” cannot touch you, and you cannot touch them.
  • Try to see as many houses early as you can. The lines will get longer over the first hour.
  • Midpoint during the night the house lines will probably be at their longest. This might be a good time to ride some of the attractions. Using the single rider line will cut your wait as well. Men In Black, Revenge of the Mummy, Escape from Gringotts, and Transformers, all have single rider lines. Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket has a single rider line as well, but it’s usually just as long as the regular line.
  • Lines will likely be shorter again toward the end of the night (within an hour of closing).
  • Line lengths seem to vary every year depending on theme and location. The licensed houses tend to attract loner lines. The sound stages near the front entrance draw large crowds since it’s the first houses you see when you enter.

There are a few add-ons that you can purchase in addition to your event ticket.  If you are interested in any of these, please contact your Dream Designer, as many of these experiences sell out.
