First Look at New ‘Disney Hercules’ Stage Show Aboard Disney Destiny

We are thrilled to share a first look at the stunning new show that’s proven “whose daring deeds are great theater!”

“Disney Hercules” stays true to the story and spirit of the beloved film with a fresh, contemporary retelling that stars all of guests’ favorite gods, mortals, and mythical beings, many represented in surprising new ways.

Like the film, the Muses are the show’s storytellers, and their over-the-top personalities and transcendent vocals shine on stage. High-fashion costumes showcase the opulence of the gods of Mount Olympus and contrast starkly with the more understated and humble attire worn by the humans and creatures of Earth.

Centered around the legendary soundtrack from the film, the production features modern renditions of nostalgic classics like “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love.” New musical arrangements infuse the songs guests love with the soulfulness of gospel music and the energy of a pop concert.

In addition to all of the songs from the movie, “Disney Hercules” includes “Shooting Star,” a heartfelt ballad originally written for the film by Alan Menken and David Zippel.

From the multi-headed Hydra to the mighty Titans, the monsters and mythological behemoths from the film are alive on stage with the help of jaw-dropping puppetry. Custom-made for the performance by award-winning puppet designer Michael Curry, the larger-than-life characters engage Hercules in dynamic battles as his quest to fulfill his hero’s journey unfurls on stage.

Developed exclusively for the Disney Destiny, “Disney Hercules” is one of three stage shows aboard the ship, along with fan-favorites “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”
