As my friend, Lumiere would say, “If you’re stressed, it’s fine dining we suggest!” Taking an evening to relax and enjoy a delectable meal can be the perfect way to end the night at Walt Disney World. With so many fine dining options, it can be hard to choose which restaurant is best for your special night. We have gathered some of our Dream Designers to share some of their favorite Signature Dining restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Holley Andrews McKay – Narcoossee’s – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Located along the water’s edge at the far end of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa sits Narcoossee’s Restaurant, one of my family’s favorite Signature Dining locations. It has wonderful views overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon, Cinderella’s Castle and is a gem of a spot to watch Happily Ever After. The coastal theme is inviting and the atmosphere is cozy. We chose a variety of offerings from the menu and the unanimous favorites were the filet and steamed lobster, which were phenomenal, especially paired with Narcoossee’s signature mashed potatoes! Not to be outdone is Narcoossee’s Candy Bar which is a delectable dessert option. If you are looking for a nice location to enjoy a quiet meal with amazing offerings and top notch service, look no further than Narcoossee’s!
Erica Sherman – California Grill – Disney’s Contemporary Resort
My favorite Signature Dining option at Walt Disney World is California Grill on the top floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This location offers Californian cooking, which is a unique blend of American and International flavors, and has some of the best sushi on Disney property. The wine list is extensive and features some of the best California wines you can get. Try to book your meal around fireworks time- it easily has one of the best views, and they dim the lights and play the music for the whole restaurant to hear. If you can’t swing a reservation during fireworks time, hang onto your same day receipt and you’ll get access to their viewing platform for the fireworks.
Amy McVaugh – Tiffin’s – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
If you like to walk a little on the wild side during your visit to Animal Kingdom, Tiffins is a true indulgence of all the senses! With three distinct dining areas (Grand Gallery, Safari Gallery and the Trek Gallery), this restaurant features original concept Art used during the designing of Animal Kingdom park. The walls feel alive with stained glass African animals, hand-carved totems, Asian Art and even some familiar favorites from the old Camp Minnie and Mickey. Tiffins is a true dining event, meant to be enjoyed leisurely. Be sure to order a variety of dishes to share, making this a delicious evening filled with special memories!
Amy Huffman – Yachtsman Steakhouse – Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Looking for the BEST steak on property? Look no further than Yachtsman Steakhouse. Nestled in the Yacht Club Resort, this is an easy dining option when staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, or when you are visiting Epcot. The New-England style steakhouse is not only perfect for a date night, but is family friendly as well. We love this option as a quiet and relaxing break from the parks. Roasted garlic for your bread, twice baked potatoes, need I say more? Let them eat steak!
Kristin Boyd – Jiko – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
If you have a more adventurous palette and are looking for a unique experience, head over to Jiko on the lower level of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here you will dine in a beautiful and romantic atmosphere where you can even watch the colors change on the back wall to mimic the African sunset! Jiko is known for its vast selection of African wines. I recommend having the sommelier help you choose a selection of wines for a flight to fit your tastes. Popular dishes include melt in your mouth Botswana Seswaa-Style Beef Short Ribs and the Oak Grilled Filet. If you prefer seafood, the Bo Kaap Malay Seafood Curry won’t disappoint. And you must add on the Bobotie Macaroni and Cheese to any meal you choose! After your dinner, head outside to see the animals roaming the savanna at the resort overlooks. It will be the perfect ending to a romantic and delicious experience!
Courtney Mikula – Victoria & Albert’s – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
If you’re looking for a romantic fine dining experience with a relaxing atmosphere, look no further. Victoria & Albert’s is the perfect place to celebrate special occasions such as engagements, weddings, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, or a “just because” elegant date night. The restaurant is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and has accumulated many awards over the years, including the great honor of being named a AAA Five Diamond Award® recipient since 2000. Their menu offerings vary by season using the freshest ingredients from around the world. Each menu item we tried during our last visit was incredibly tasty. The presentation does not disappoint either. Victoria & Albert’s also features an award-winning wine list, including rare and vintage pairings. Whether you choose to enjoy your meal in The Dining Room, The Queen Victoria Room, or the Chef’s Table, it’s a dining experience you’ll never forget.
