The Disney Destiny is the newest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.  The ship is quite large and exceptionally beautiful.  Getting around can be very intimidating, and some Guests may take a few days to become familiar with the layout of each deck and how to get back and forth from their staterooms.  Here are some tips to help you find your way to all of the magic on this amazing vessel!

GETTING FROM PLACE TO PLACE

There are two sets of elevators on each floor. At each elevator corridor, you will see the floor number that you are currently on, as well as your place on each deck. These are Aft, or the rear of the ship, and Forward, or front. Use the map to locate the Deck and area of the ship where you are headed.

TIP: Move Horizontally, then Move Vertically.

For example:  You want to go to Marceline Market for lunch.  It’s located on Deck 11 Aft.  If your room is located on the Forward end of the ship, go to the Aft end ON YOUR LEVEL before getting on the elevator.  Otherwise, you will need to take the kids through the adult only pool area.

Always know where you are going first, and when possible, use your deck level to get to the correct end of the ship.

LOCATING YOUR STATEROOM

If you’re not sure where your stateroom is located, you can use clues in the hallways to find your way there.

Each stateroom has a door hanger and clip related to the theme of the Deck.  The first digit(s) in each stateroom number refers to the Deck number.  Room numbers are based on stateroom location.  For example, on Deck 7 staterooms on the Port Side will start with 70 or 71.  Staterooms on the Starboard side will start with 75 or 76.

One last navigation aid is right beneath your feet.  In the hallways, find the Hidden Mickeys in the carpet design.  If the Hidden Mickeys in are right-side-up, you are headed Forward.  If they’re upside-down, you are headed Aft.  Even the colors help to guide you with warm colors on Forward carpets and cool colors on Aft carpets.  In the elevator lobbies on each floor you’ll notice a spectacular carpet design of two iconic characters – Sorcerer Mickey greets you when you step off the Aft elevators, while Dragon Maleficent waits for you in Forward lobbies.
