Walt Disney World Responds to Mosquito Concerns

In our conversations with guests, we have recently been hearing questions about Walt Disney World vacations, and whether the Zika virus should be a concern.  According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), the only cases of Zika have been reported in South Florida in the Miami/Dade County Area (as of this publishing date).  No cases have been reported in the greater Orlando area.  However, the folks at the major amusement attractions are not taking any chances and are offering additional protections for their guests.  These attractions include Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.

Walt Disney World Resort already has a pretty intensive mosquito control system in place, primarily due to all the water properties and swamp land still within the resort perimeter.  But today, Disney took the additional steps of caution by providing additional educational information to it’s guests, as well as making EPA approved mosquito repellent available at the parks and resorts.

Guests in resort rooms were greeted today with an informational sheet, and their own can of spray.

Upon entering the parks, guests were also given an informational flyer on mosquito prevention:

When opening your My Disney Experience app, the first screen offered additional information about protection:

Located in several spots around the park are display tables with additional information and cans of spray for guests to use at their discretion:

As you can see, My Mickey Vacation Travel keeps you up to date with all the latest information out of Walt Disney World, even that which effects our guests.
