Unique & Creative Ideas for Disney Character Autographs

Are you looking for a unique Disney character autograph idea that won’t sit around on a shelf?

One of the most exciting moments of a Disney vacation is meeting your favorite character, sharing a photo with them, and collecting their autographs. However, if you have visited a Disney Destination multiple times, you may have a collection of autograph books that don’t get viewed very often.  Here are a few ideas for unique ways to take the autographs out of the book.

Photo Frame Mats

One of the most popular and easy-to-carry items is a photo frame mat. These can easily fit in a backpack or the basket of your stroller. They also make for a fun prop to use during your character meet-and-greet.

Bonus Tip:
Bring a variety of colorful markers to make each character’s signature pop!

Ceramic Plate

How about something that you can display in your home all year long. A ceramic plate in a fun shape can be a wonderful alternative to an autograph book. While something this fragile might not be the best fit for theme parks, it is perfect for a Disney Cruise Line sailing. Carry your plate to the character experiences, drop it off in your stateroom, and then head to the pool!

Decorative Mickey Head

Similar to the ceramic plate, a lightweight wooden Mickey head is a great way to display your Disney character autographs. This is a much lighter option for the theme parks. You can also customize your colors to fit your home decor.

Your Own Drawings!

If you or your little Mouseketeers are budding artist, have the character autograph your drawing. The characters love to see your artistic interpretation of them, and it makes for a really fun character interaction. You can then frame your artwork to hang in your home.

Character Specific Items

A handheld rose mirror for Belle, an artist palette for Rapunzel, and a “glass slipper” for Cinderella; bringing an item from the character’s story will bring joy to the characters face, and create fun interactions. Bringing specific items requires some planning as it will mean carrying several things through the park all day. However, if you plan to visit the parks multiple times throughout your trip, you can bring just a few items at a time. You can also reserve this particular item for just your favorite character.

Here are some other items to consider:

  • Ariel –  wooden “dinglehopper” or a “thingamabob”
  • Stitch – a toy ukelele
  • Pluto –  a dog bowl
  • Captain Jack Sparrow – a treasure map
  • The Evil Queen – a decorative apple
  • Tiana – a recipe card box
  • Mickey and Minnie – mouse ears
  • Elsa – a snowflake ornament

From t-shirts and backpacks to water bottles and pillowcases, no matter what you decide to bring will add a new touch of magic to your Disney vacation.

Some additional tips:

  • Be sure to have the proper writing utensils on hand for the item you want autographed.
  • Characters will not sign anything you are wearing. Carry any shirts or shoes you want to be signed.
  • Keep the park rules in mind when selecting your item.
