Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening Dates Announced

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening date at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort has been formally announced.  The new Star Wars-inspired land will officially open on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland, and August 29, 2019 at Walt Disney World.

Ever since this new expansion project was announced at the D23 conference in August of 2015, fans have been waiting with baited breath for all the news of this new attraction experience.  Located at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World® Resort, these projects mark the largest “land” expansion in the history of the parks.

Galaxy’s Edge will feature 2 new attractions:

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will allow guests to pilot the famed ship in a simulator. (Available on opening day)

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance which is a dark ride where guests enter into a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. (Will open later in the year)

FastPasses and MaxPass (Disneyland) will not be available for either park until a later date.  VIP tours will not be available at this time.

Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort will be guaranteed one entry during their stay between May 31 and June 23.  Guests not staying at the resort will be able to make a future reservation to visit Galaxy’s Edge, but those details have not been released yet.

As for Hollywood Studios, there have been no announcements yet as to the logistics of crowd control.  We will keep you updated as they become known.

We know that the anticipation level has been high for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.  We are getting closer. G2VAPE
