This week at the Pandora media event, My Mickey Vacation Travel was able to experience the entire Pandora – The World of Avatar area new to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
I was able to explore the new Satu’li Canteen restaurant as well. This quick service location has a great menu, new technology, and inside/outside seating. Let’s take a look……
Upon arrival, you can select which line you enter. If you have used the MDE app to pre-order your food, head to the left. If you are ordering from the menu on-site, head to the right.
The ordering and food pickup areas are consistent with other Disney quick service locations, just with the “Pandora” decor.
The Menu is a lot of fun. The main course at lunch and dinner consists of the Satu’li Canteen Bowl. Add your protein choice from chicken, beef, fish, or tofu, and then add your base and special sauce.
A crowd favorite was the steamed “Pod” dishes. These are bao buns with either cheeseburger or vegetable curry and served with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw.
For dessert, guests can choose between 2 Pandorian favorites…. Blueberry cream cheese mousse with passion fruit curd or a Chocolate cake with a crunchy cookie layer banana cream topping.

The interior of the restaurant is plush with detail. The artwork and tapestry representing Pandora is perfect. It had a warm and earthy feeling about it that’s indescribable. For larger groups, there are 2 round booth-style tables. There is also plenty of outdoor seating available as well.
Keeping with the theme of protecting the environment, the refuse disposal area offers disposal for recycling, and minimizes the use of throw-away plastic through the use of washable dishes and utensils.
And as a nice added touch, sodas and drinks are refillable by offering self-service stations for use by the guests.
