Parking fees will soon be implemented at Walt Disney World Resorts for guests who choose to drive and park at the resorts.
While free parking has long been a draw to the resorts, Walt Disney World will now be more in line with other resorts in the greater Orlando area that charge guests to park their cars overnight.
The fee will be implemented on all reservations made after March 21, 2018. The new parking rate will be $13 per night for Value resorts, $19 per night for Moderate Resorts, and $24 per night for Deluxe Resorts. Valet parking will increase from $25 to $33 per night. Guests with bookings prior to March 21 will be notified of the change, but will not be assessed the fee. Complimentary standard parking is available to Guests staying at Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Each campsite provides parking space for one (1) motorized vehicle.
The parking fee will only be charged to guests staying overnight. Complimentary standard self-parking is available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels.
It’s important to note that Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California has long had a parking fee, so it appears that Walt Disney World Resort is simply catching up to its sister location.
