Nothing beats a good fireworks dessert party, and it’s pretty rare to find a free one. Well, at least the admission is free as you still have to pay for your desserts and drinks. Each Wednesday evening, guests can visit the Grand Floridian Resort and enjoy a lawn party with no admission fee. While there is a fee for desserts and drinks, the fun and perfect view of the fireworks come at no charge. Last week, I got to attend this fun party, and I’m so glad I did. It’s very creative and fun.
The event is called the Gone Mad Party, and is held every Wednesday evening at the patio near the Gasparilla Island Grill. Not sure where that is? It’s right near the marina where guests can rent watercraft. It provides a straight view of the evening fireworks. The party begins at 8:30 pm and winds down after the show at 10:30 pm.
The patio takes the shape of an Alice in Wonderland adventure with fun seating. There are even various props and hats that you can use for taking fun pictures.
While admission to the party area is free and open to anyone, there is a charge for the drinks and refreshments. Various Alice in Wonderland themed cupcakes and desserts are available, as well as adult adult specialty drinks, beer, and sodas. Desserts range from $4.99 for small items, up to $9.99 for specialty desserts such as the Cheshire Cat Cupcake, Tiramisu in a Chocolate Tea Cup, and the Brownie Flower Pot with a Cake Pop.
While the Gone Mad Party is being offered each Wednesday night, there is no announced end date for seasonal purposes. Be sure to take this fun free fireworks dessert party in during your next visit.
