Disney’s Secret Dole Whip Recipe

There is nothing we love more than taking a walk down Main Street USA, grabbing a tasty treat and enjoying the magical views of Disneyland Park or the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The music, the views, and the gratifying flavors just fill us with joy and magic. The treat we love to grab most often is the world-famous Dole Whip. Anytime we are not in the parks, we get a craving for this delicious treat. There are few Disney snacks that are as popular as the beloved Dole Whip.  If you’re a Disney Parks regular, you know that a Dole Whip is a soft-serve, tasty work of art.

The classic treat we all love is now available to enjoy in the comfort of your own home! Disney has shared this theme park classic via the My Disney Experience app.  This recipe only needs three simple ingredients, and it gives a small dose of magic to those Disney lovers who are currently stuck at home. What a perfect way to spread joy to those who are wanting to recreate and bring some of that Disney magic into their home.

DOLE WHIP RECIPE

Prep: 2 mins

Cook: 3 mins

Total: 5 mins

Servings: 2

Ingredients: 3

Ingredients

  • 1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • 4 oz of pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple

Instructions

  • Step 1: Combine ingredients into a blender
  • Step 2: Cover and blend until smooth and thick. Scrape down sides as necessary.
  • Step 3: You’re done! For the true Disney Experience, place mixture into an icing bag and pipe blended ingredients into a swirl

Notes

If you don’t have a piping bag and don’t want to make a trip to the store, don’t worry! Parchment paper can be used as an alternative, as can plastic sandwich bags.

We can take the flavor to the next level by creating the signature Pineapple Float! Simply size up your glass, fill half-way with pineapple juice then top with your newly made Dole Whip creation.  Add a paper umbrella and get ready for more delicious park flavors!

One of our favorite ways to add a little heat and something extra to our Dole Whips and Pineapple Floats is to sprinkle chili powder like Tajin. This little bit of heat is a fun twist to add to this cool treat.

The world-famous Dole Whip treat at Disney Parks is actually dairy-free – which is one of the big draws for many who are vegan or lactose intolerant. You can use a coconut milk beverage instead of ice cream, as instructed by the actual Dole website. To make the recipe dairy-free, replace the scoop of ice cream with ¼-½ cup of Coconut Milk.

Because of its creamy and soft-served nature, we don’t suggest making this ahead of time and freezing. While it will still taste delicious, it won’t have that creamy texture we all know and love. If you do need to freeze any extras (haha…like there will be leftovers!) we suggest using it in the Float vs eating it by itself. This will keep your juice nice and cold, and you won’t have to worry about the texture.

Create More Magical Moments at Home!

While enjoying this tasty treat at home may not be the same as savoring it in the Parks, it’s a wonderful way to create magical moments at home. Pop on your mouse ears, turn on your favorite Disney+ movie and relive the magic in the comfort of your own home.
