Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Tips

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has returned for another season of not-so-scary fun.  From special parades, fireworks, characters, food, and trick or treating, this specially ticketed event is a favorite of young and old alike.  Our Dream Designers have decided to share some of their favorite parts of the party with you.

MICHELLE STEPHEN – SPECIAL CHARACTER MEETS

I absolutely love attending special events throughout the year at Disney World. One of my favorite events is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! During this party so many characters are available to meet that are not at the park year round, and it always makes for an exciting time.

You can stop by Liberty Square to meet Jack Skellington and Sally, then swing by Fantasyland to get a photo with The Seven Dwarfs, Alice, The Queen of Hearts, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. This year, Moana has also decided to join in on the fun and will be meeting during the party, along with many other characters.

Nothing is more magical than watching your child meet their Disney hero, or getting to finally meet the Disney Villain you always secretly loved- CRUELLA DEVIL! If you want to make for a special interaction, dress up as your favorite character before meeting them!

MEGAN HAYS – HALLOWISHES

My favorite part of MNSSHP is Happy HalloWishes. The show features spooky projections and jaw dropping fireworks on and around Cinderella’s Castle. The show is perfectly choreographed to a not-so-scary soundtrack featuring well-known Disney classics and newer favorites sung by a collection of Disney villains.

There is truly nothing like it- the atmosphere on Main Street, the costumes, the treats all make it the most unique show you’ll ever experience.

KRISTIN BOYD – BOO TO YOU PARADE

Out of all of the parades that Disney offers, The Boo to You Parade at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is my very favorite.

Make sure to find a good spot early because you will not want to miss the Headless Horseman that gets it started!  Then prepare yourself for a treat as your favorite characters parade by.  Friends from Song of the South, the Country Bears, Pinocchio and Geppetto, and Claribel are a few of the rare ones!

And of course there are plenty of villains!  Brace yourself as Jafar, Facilier, the Evil Queen, Malificent, Cruella DeVil, Queen of Hearts, and Bowler Hat Guy (to name a few) make their way past you.  And no Halloween parade at Disney would be complete without the Haunted Mansion representing!  There is a spooky float of hitch-hiking ghosts, dancing gouls, a skeleton band, and my favorite part of the whole parade …the dancing grave diggers!  I love the sound of their shovels scraping on the ground!  It is oh so spooky and cool!

But don’t worry, like the song says, “It’s not so scary! It’s really not so scary!”

KAREN STONER – TRICK OR TREATING

It’s not just for kids anymore.  All throughout the party, kids of all ages can yell “Trick or Treat” and receive a handfull of yummy goodies.  When you arrive at the party, you’ll receive a trick or treat bag (they are also available at each candy station). When you find the big blow-up balloons announcing a candy location, just get in line and you’re on your way to some fun treats.  And don’t worry….plenty of adults enjoy trick or treating, too.

Your party park map will show you where all the trick or treat trails are.  My favorite new trail this year is through the Mickey’s PhilharMagic theater.  You’ll enjoy a handful of candy prior to entering the theater.  Once inside, feel free to grab a seat and watch some classic animated movies such as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, or Walt Disney’s first Silly Symphony film, The Skeleton Dance.

Trick or treating is a tradition every Halloween, and at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the tradition continues.
